4th August
We welcomed 2 new members onto our shallow boat competition on 4th August. 16 members and 1 guest fished on a sunny day, where a good variety of fish were caught.
For once the mackerel showed up and along with a the last of the smoothounds, there were conger, bass, silver eels, black bream, wrasse and whiting as well as a nice red mullet.
Adey Groves was the winner taking optional pool with a smoothound of 3.742, second Steve Southwell, and third Matt Bowles.
Our September shallow boat competition will be a species hunt.

At last a bright sunny not too windy day to fish, the changed date and time of our shallow boat competition
to 14th July, with fishing from 3.00-8.00 proved successful with the smoothounds. Winner on the day was Steve Southwell with 3 nice smoothounds also taking optional pool with
one of 4.592kgs, closely followed by Wayne Bulley with 2 smoothounds, 3rd Steve Tyers with a good conger and bream 4th Jim Merritt with a smoothound

23rd June
A sunny day at last giving the opportunity to go past Greenland’s Buoy for some members, but even that blew up a bit later so return to the favourite of mark of Greenland’s
A good selection of Smoothounds showed up and some good size black bream. Adey Groves won the competition with total weight of 13.322kgs and shared the optional pool
with Jim Merritt, both catching smoothounds of 3.742kgs. Runner up was Gary Thomas, followed by Steve Tyers. The first knockout was completed with Adey Groves winning.

26th May
Shallow Boats results 26th May:Another windy trip out for the May shallow boat match, saw 17 members and 1 guest go out. No-one went past Greenlands Buoy because of the weather,and a poor weigh in with only 8 fish being caught. The winner of the match and optional was Adey Groves with a smoothound of 2.041kgs.

Once again the wind played a major stumbling point to a good days fishing, 16 members and 1 guest fishing, 12 managed to find fish. Winner was Steve Tyers who also took optional pool with a good dogfish of 1.021kgs

On a very blustery day 13 anglers went out, and only one boat ventured past Greenlands Buoy to be rewarded a haul of 24 dogfish on the boat.Paul Harris won the competition with 16 dogfish and Adey Groves took the optional pool with a Thornback Ray of 3.912kgs
