PLEASE NOTE  The fishing limits on all Shallow Boat comps are the Solent up to Hurst Castle / Golden Hill  Fort in the West and Ryde Pier / Gilkicker Point in the East. Please note that NO FISHING is allowed in the Docks area which is from entrance to Ocean Village marina around to the end of the Container berths at the top of the river Test,  just short of the Redbridge Causeway Railway Bridge. Limits may be shortened on the day due to adverse weather conditions, Please check when signing on. SHALLOW BOAT TEAMS     Members wishing to enter the Teams competition must give their names to the Shallow Boat Commodore. Teams of three will be drawn from the hat after the weigh-in of  the 3rd competition. Team names will then be drawn by Team Captain and will be used for the rest of the year. BASS NURSERY AREA  Due to the whole of Southampton Water being a Bass Nursery Area plus an area around the hot water outlet off Calshot, No Bass can be landed between 1st May to October 31st on Shallow Boat competitions. ALL BASS CAUGHT ON ALL COMPS WILL NOW BE MEASURE & RETURN AND RETURNED TO THE WATER. Weights coming from the Club Bass Chart. DOGFISH Rule amended at AGM, it is now as follows:- All Lesser Spotted Dogfish to be counted as 700gms and marked on card picked up when signing on.  Only 1 dogfish to be brought back to the scales for weighing in for O/Pool, Club Record, Fish of the Month, Specimen Fish but will only count as 700grms in with the total weight. SMOOTHOUNDS will be fished for, to a Weight to Length Conversion Chart.  There will be no Restrictions on amount caught but only 1 can be brought to the scales for O/Pool, Club Record, Fish of the Month, Specimen Fish, but only weight from conversion chart will be counted towards Total Weight ALL RAYS will be fished for to the Club Ray Weight to Length Across Wings Chart so that fish can be released straight away. Weight from Chart to count towards Total weight. WHITING : All Whiting between the sizes 27cm to 30cm to be recorded on issued card and returned to sea. Fish will awarded 180gms at the weigh in but only fish marked on card will be accepted. This is to aid conservation and was passed at 2017 AGM.
