Sat 15th MarHordle & Milford

22 Seniors and 1 Guest fished last night at Hordle and Milford on a lovely chilly evening. Last year this venue produced a number of Rays but unfortunately no sizeable ones were caught. Sat 25th JanSteamer point

Last nights match was restricted to Stokes Bay as the red flag was flying on Browndown and you can’t argue with a tank.😁 20 seniors fished and we welcome new members Wayne Swanborough, Tyronne (hope I got your name right) Williams, Nico White and relative newcomers Kelly Crombie & Matt Bowles – well done to you all recording sizeable fish.
A gentle North Easterly wind and a flat calm sea made for comfortable conditions and it didn’t get too cold. As often happens some parts of the beach produced plenty and other areas struggled. Many caught plenty of undersized fish sometimes having to catch 4 or 5 before finding a sizeable one.
19 recorded a total of 161 sizeable fish being 130 Whiting, 18 Pout, 11 Dogfish & 2 Dabs.
1st place was Lewis Milam with 37 fish for 6.939kg. He even caught 2 Whiting on the same hook.

The Golden Fish was won by Richard Dunham with a Dab of 0.170kg winning £20. Unlucky Jack Haynes also catching a Dab of 0.142kg.

Sat 11th JanStokes Bay & Browndown

19 members and 2 guests fished Steamer Point last night in the 1st shore match. The weather was dry and calm but chilly and the old saying of wind in the east fish bite least did seem to have some truth. Nevertheless, 54 sizeable fish were recorded with 16 anglers catching Whiting, Pouting, Rockling, Dogfish, Flounder, Dab & Sole.
Lewis Milam won with a good mixed bag of 4 Whiting, 3 Pout, 1 Flounder & a decent 38cm Sole for 1.785kg. Kevin Dunham returned to the scene and the break must have done him good with most fish on the night 8 Pout & 2 Whiting for 2nd place with 1.290kg. Club regular Jon Purdie did well with 3 Whiting & 1 Dogfish for 1.134kg taking 3rd spot. Returning member Anthony James took 4th with 3 Whiting & 2 Pout for 0.935kg. 5th was Daniel Panter with heaviest fish a Dog at 0.652kg & 2 Pout for 0.808kg.
